Psalms 103:11-14 - The Verses Project

Bible Psalms 103:11-14

Posted February 19, 2012

 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.

We pray the truths that are in these verses that we may have heard before (as high as the heavens, as far as the east…) wouldn't fall on hard soil but be as breath-taking as they were the first time when you came to realize the greatness of God's love toward you in Christ. Meditate on each phrase. Savor it. Ask God to reveal it afresh. How high is his love!! Be astonished by forgiveness again. Don't take his fatherly compassion for granted. We deserve death, wrath, & judgment, but God is rich in mercy. May we fear him! Rejoice that he knows our condition and didn't leave us to our own accord, but sent his son jesus to rescue and deliver us from ourselves. God, open our eyes that we might see wonderful things in your law.
