Psalms 23:5-6 - The Verses Project

Bible Psalms 23:5-6

Posted December 26, 2011

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

We decided to start posting some of our favorite older Verses Project songs from last year on the site for those who missed them. Below is from the email we sent out then, so don't be weirded out by Christmas references:

Amazing to think that this is the last Verses Project of the year, and next week we'll be starting the 2nd year of Fighter Verses (it's a 5 year plan)… If you want to find more info about this memory system we're following, go to www.fighterverses.com . There's also an app available on the iPhone & Android that is quite helpful when you're trying to memorize.

This week's song was written by Dave Wilton (www.davewilton.com). He's a talented singer/songwriter/producer and is part of Loud Harp (www.loudharp.com). We met him in Lafayette, CO and immediately were encouraged by his incredible talent and gentleness. We think his song embodies the peace that comes with a deeper trust in the truths represented in this ever-comforting psalm.

Here's a blog to help dive in deeper (and the author name drops Frodo and Sam, so that helps too): http://www.fighterverses.com/blog-post/rest-gods-mercy-is-towards-us/

Merry Christmas, all.
